• Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is based on helping the patient understand the thoughts about themselves and towards others. The objective is to modify the thoughts, feelings and actions.
  • Cognitive Therapy: It is based on the cognitive restructuring of the patient who tends to have negative thoughts or unrealistic beliefs. The objective is to identify the maladaptive thoughts and replace them for positive ones.
  • Brainspotting: Is based on the belief that certain eye positions can evoke emotions, sensations, and memories because they access specific “brainspots” where traumatic memories are stored.
  • Brief Therapy: This approach focuses on the factors that contribute to the maladaptive behavior to determine what coping skills to use to resolve the issues. The goal is to decrease a particular symptom without going in depth about their past or other issues.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: It is based on learning to have more flexibility to regulate certain behaviors. It helps the patient to accept their situation and act in a more positive manner.
  • Family System Therapy: The patient is part of a family system that has affected their mental health due to issues with family relationships. The objective is to identify and change the patient’s perception about themself in the family.
